Habitat for Humanity: Helping build a better world

Beaverbrook Homes is one of many proud supporters helping Habitat for Humanity strive to reach its goal of eliminating poverty housing in Canada. Having partnered with Habitat for Humanity to donate a home in Phase 1 of its Victoria! In Mount Albert site, Beaverbrook will continue this tradition with the donation of another home in Phase 2 of this one-of-a-kind community in fall 2007.Founded in 1985, Habitat for Humanity consists of 30,000 volunteers and 70 affiliates from coast to coast. On an international level, this non-profit, faith-based organization spans 100 countries, has built over 200,000 homes, and is now building a new home every 24 minutes. "This is an amazing organization," says Vice-President of Beaverbrook Homes, Anthony Lanni. "Through the generous donations of supporters and volunteers, Habitat for Humanity is helping make a difference in the lives of families, and to date, have built more than 1,000 homes in Canada."
